Trocheck’s Road to Recovery
Vincent Trocheck took to his latest player blog to detail his recovery following an ankle injury against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 19.
“Since undergoing surgery, I’ve continued to get better, and now I feel like I could be there on the ice right now if this stupid cast wasn’t on. Right now, it’s just a matter of the docs doing their job and letting me know when I’m ready to step back in and, hopefully, try to take over a game.”

Huberdeau Making Waves
On Monday, Jonathan Huberdeau was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week for the weekend ending Dec. 2, in which he garnered nine points (2-7-9) in four games.
During the homestand, Huberdeau also passed Nathan Horton for fourth all-time on the Panthers franchise points list. To keep up to date on Huberdeau’s race up the historical charts for the Cats, head HERE.
On Wednesday, 4,500 South Florida Elementary & Middle School students who participate in the Everfi Future Goals program were invited to watch a Florida Panthers practice at BB&T Center courtesy of JetBlue. Prior to the practice, students heard from a panel including Panthers and BB&T Center staff as well as a JetBlue pilot to learn about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) jobs in the sports industry.
The National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association partnered to launch the Future Goals program which is an initiative that provides students with STEM education. Everfi’s Hockey Scholar course is a computer program that teaches STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) through the sport of hockey and real-life applications.
Needless to say, it was a big hit with both the students and players.
